Many of the students we spoke to are making some use of their own tools to socialise and network in personal and public spaces, and in doing so are actually supporting their learning in that they use these tools to communicate and share information and resources between themselves and their peers, even though they did not necessarily view this themselves as ‘learning’ per se.

Journalism that people get paid to do—nowadays, so far as I can tell—is about access and betrayal. You try to get access to people, institutions and situations that the public is interested in, that either have some celebrity value, or some intrigue value. You get really close to your subject, and you sell them out.

Screen capture of some graphs plotted by a student in a Maths class this morning. I was asking some questions about steepness and intercept and which pair of lines were parallel. He then sent me this grab and I loaded it here. In the lesson, and the whole intervention took about 15 minutes.
