How to link your presentation to your Webfolio
You have to do two things…
- Upload your ppt as a single file into your asset store
- Make a link from your Webfolio to your ppt
To upload your ppt file into your asset store…
- Log into PebblePad
- Click on Upload File and select Single File
- Give the ‘asset’ a title (‘component 4’ or similar) and perhaps a sentence of description
- Click on the green paperclip at the bottom right of the pebble pad window
- The window that pops up has a ‘browse’ button - click that
- The usual ‘open’ file window appears, find your ppt file and click the ‘open’ button
- Then click the ‘upload’ button and watch the progress bar
- When the file has uploaded, click the x icon to exit just that window
You now have your ppt saved as an asset in your store. You can check it is there by
- Clicking on View All
- Your ppt will probably be the top most asset
To link the asset to your web folio on the Critical Incident page…
- Go back to the Assets pebble and select View All
- Find your web folio
- Select it
- A new window should appear on the right offering options such as ‘view’ and ‘edit’
- Select the ‘edit’ option
- Yet more windows open (PebblePad likes lots of windows)
- Go to blob number 4 on the bottom of the right hand window
- You should get a list of pages
- Select the Critical Incident page
- Click the ‘pen and paper’ icon bottom right
- The text of the CI page should become visible in an editor window
- Where it says component 4, add some text like ‘here is the PowerPoint presentation I used in my seminar’ and then highlight that text
- Click on the link icon (chain link) in the toolbar of the editor window, just above where you write the text
- You will see a list of your assets. Select the asset that contains your ppt
- Click OK
- The text you highlighted should now appear blue and underlined
- Save changes by clicking the disc icon
- Click the ‘magnifying glass’ icon to view the portfolio page as I will see it
- A new window will open, showing your text. Follow the link to see your file.
- If everything is OK, then close everything and log out
- Make a nice cup of tea
